What's covered on your Skoda

Skoda shares its engines and gearboxes with Volkswagen, Audi and SEAT, so its known faults are largely the Volkswagen Group's known faults. Factory cover lasts three years, which means most Skodas on UK roads are already outside it. A single DSG repair can use up a large share of a claim on its own, so £3,000 per claim with unlimited claims is sized for the bills these cars actually produce.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the Skoda warranty?

Three years. There's no mileage limit for the first two years, then cover ends at 60,000 miles in year three, whichever comes first. Skoda dealers sell their own extensions, with terms that vary.

Are Skodas reliable?

Skoda's first-time MOT pass rate was 80.6% in the DVSA's 2024 test year, against a 78.0% average across the 25 makes in our Reliability Hub — eighth of 25.

Is the DSG gearbox covered?

Mechanical and electrical failure of covered gearbox components, including the mechatronic unit, can be covered up to the £3,000 claim limit. Clutch friction material is a wear item and is excluded from every warranty.

Can I cover an electric or hybrid Skoda?

Yes. ClearPath covers petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric cars. High-voltage battery cover runs up to 9 years or 70,000 miles, with cell replacement limits set out in the cover schedule; gradual battery capacity loss is excluded.

Will my Skoda still be eligible after the factory warranty ends?

Yes. ClearPath eligibility runs to 15 years or 150,000 miles, well beyond Skoda's own three-year cover, so there's no need for a gap between the two.

How much does a warranty cost for a Skoda?
