What's covered on your Tesla

Tesla's own battery and drive unit warranty runs for eight years, so the real gap opens when the four-year, 50,000-mile basic vehicle warranty ends. That leaves suspension, climate control, screens, charging hardware and body electrics without factory cover, often while the car is still young, and Teslas cover big miles quickly. ClearPath's EV cover is aimed at exactly those parts, with £3,000 per claim, unlimited claims and labour covered up to £100 an hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the Tesla warranty?

Tesla's Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty lasts four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The battery and drive unit have a separate eight-year warranty with a mileage cap that depends on the model.

Do I need cover for the Tesla battery?

Usually the battery is still under Tesla's own eight-year warranty when the basic warranty ends, so most of the value of independent cover is in everything else. ClearPath's high-voltage battery cover runs up to 9 years or 70,000 miles; gradual capacity loss is excluded.

Is a Tesla touchscreen covered?

Failure of the central display and media control unit can be claimed for as an electrical breakdown, subject to the £3,000 claim limit and the EV cover schedule. Accidental or water damage is not covered.

Who repairs my Tesla if I claim?

You or your garage contact ClearPath before any work starts, and the repair must be authorised first. High-voltage work needs a garage qualified to handle electric vehicles.

Will my Tesla still be eligible after the 4-year warranty ends?

Yes. ClearPath eligibility runs to 15 years or 150,000 miles, so a high-mileage Tesla that has passed 50,000 miles can still be covered.

How much does a warranty cost for a Tesla?

Cover starts from £14.88 a month with code CP15, plus 3 months free, on a 3-year plan. Get an instant online price based on your exact Tesla, age and mileage.
